A bird

Hi! I made this for my sister for christmas. It is a self-portrait as a starving bird paper toy. It is acrylic paint and pen on multiple layers of bristol.

In one night…

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Last thursday the Print Club sponsored a one night print exchange. About 16 printmakers got together to make prints to give to each other. We chose 3 words from a large list to form the title of our prints and then had the night to complete them. This is my awkwardly sexual, finished print. I think of this as a self-portrait with some of the physical attributes altered to represent some of my less-than-perfect character traits. This print, along with the finger and nipple from the previous post, is the start of a new body of work I am presently calling 69 Love Stories.

A start

The beginning of a new semester, a new degree and two new prints. These were both screen printed and are just being started. There is a lot left to do with both of them, but I am happy with how they are working out so far. Many more to come.

“!”

I have been messing around with some digital drawings to familiarize myself with using a Wacom tablet. Both of these drawings are from photographs I took. The photos were altered to exaggerate certain parts of the body and then traced. I did these both the long way, adding all the colors by hand without the help of any filters.
